There’s nothing quite like cuddling a very new baby – it is just the best feeling. At just eight days old, Raphaël was so tiny and adorable and, well, huggable. I had already met his lovely family before; my newborn session with his big brother Nathan was a revelatory moment for me, as it gave me a big steer to move to a more natural newborn photography style. To this day, those images remain some absolute favourites of mine, and it was a wonderful feeling to be able to add to the family gallery with a new set of natural and organic newborn portraits. Just like his big brother three years ago, Raphaël’s photo session took place at his family home in London Kensington. As ever, our time together felt easy and unhurried. It was such a joy to see this beautiful tiny baby surrounded by the love of his family. We moved easily from newborn portraits with the whole family to sibling images, and then ones of little one in his nursery and on his own. His big brother and sister absolutely doted on him – those sibling images were a breeze and a pleasure to capture! With newborn photo sessions at home such as these, it is easy to immortalise the precious details at the same time as the ‘bigger picture’ of family life. These sessions always feel so “real” (in a good way!) and make me truly appreciate how fortunate I am to be able to capture the dynamics of family life when a new little one comes along. Enjoy this sneak preview of the session – the boys together look so cute! I am really enjoying editing this image set and will look forward to sharing more soon!
