It seems like ages ago, but in fact it’s only been seven months since I took these portraits of Lily, the daughter of one of my closest friends from back home, and her beautiful family.
There is something magic about the summer in Sicily that brings me back to my childhood. The still atmosphere of a sunny afternoon when the only sound you can hear is the song of the cicadas, the olive groves full of the knobbly trees we used to try to climb as children, the sweet light that makes everything look bright and golden. In some ways, it really made for a very privileged childhood, to be able to enjoy all these things. And it is a privilege now, to be able to capture a little piece of all this on camera for Lily to always remember how lucky she is 🙂
So here they are – some sunny portraits of some of the warmest, loveliest people I know.
Bellissime queste foto Cri!!! c’e’ in esse tutta la luce e l’atmosfera dell’estate in Sicilia!
These photos invoke such a strong sense of nostalgia and childhood innocence, especially the ones with Lily and her granddad. Lily and her parents will love them!
These are so beautiful. The light and the colours are just perfect. Hard to pick favourites, but the ones with the grandparents are really special.
Cristy, I am stunned by these. Just gorgeous! #7 looks like a painting. Lovely, lovely colors and location. I am in love with these.
