I have photographed the R family many times before, during their years in the UK, including both Isla and Jonah’s first portraits as tiny newborn babies. It was a little sad to see them move back to the US a couple of years ago, but it was not goodbye, since they still come back to visit! On the occasion of their summer holidays this year, I was very lucky to be invited along during their visit on the Isle of Wight to photograph their beautiful family. I hadn’t seen Jonah since he was a baby in arms, and Isla was just a toddler at our last session – so it was a delight to see how much they had grown, and what funny, affectionate and smart little people they’ve grown into. To say I enjoyed my time with them is a huge understatement – this session is an all-time favourite of mine. I love the sheer joy of the children playing in the sun and the sea (we were blessed with some incredible weather to boot). So as usual, here are my favourites from the day – complete overload but narrowing down further was just not possible!
