The summer may be coming to an end here in the UK, but we’re not ready to let it go. In fact, with a bit of luck it is still definitely warm enough to visit the beach – so this is what we did on this family photo session last weekend.

I have photographed the A family many times, including their two beautiful children as newborns. They are so much bigger now, and when Louisa got in touch to book a new family photoshoot, we were both in complete agreement: we needed to do this outside to take advantage of the last of the good weather, and a trip to the beach would be well worth it.

We chose West Wittering for our location. There is something very special about its silky sand and turquoise waves. We made sure to get there nice and early, before it got busier, to take advantage of the open spaces and morning sunshine. We were also blessed with some very scenic skies. What a backdrop!

The children just loved being able to roll around in the sand and splash in the water. It wasn’t long before they both needed a change of clothes! Two hours later, tired but happy, we brought the session to a close and my word, did we have a mountain of gorgeous images to show for our time. Images full of fun, love and quietude which encapsulate this family’s personality perfectly.
