Christmas baby and child portraits
at John Lewis Basingstoke

Merry nearly Christmas! Are you all almost ready? I know I am – this year’s shoots are all done and nearly all orders delivered in time for the big day.

Let me tell you about a particularly festive and fun day out I had a couple of weeks ago, courtesy of my local John Lewis.

We created a simple, yet beautiful, Christmas room set using a variety of beautiful neutral and white decorations and furnishings from the store.  We then used this set as a backdrop for a surprise pop-up Christmas mini photo shoot event on one of the year’s busiest shopping days!

It was crazy, fast and fun – 14 gorgeous babies and children rolling around the cosy bed and “decorating” the Christmas tree.

Unlike my full photo sessions at home, which flow at a much more leisurely pace, each of these mini shoots was only ten minutes long, or under – and yet we managed to capture so many cute expressions from each of the lovely little ones that participated, the youngest one being only four weeks young! I love me a good challenge 😉

My lovely assistant also managed to capture a couple of photos and snippets of video of me at work – as embarrassing as it is, I wanted to share those too because ‘behind-the-scenes’ are great 🙂
